Thanksgiving and Christmas 2014

Thanksgiving and Emmett's
First Christmas
2014
We got to spend Thanksgiving week with the Shirts family in Coeur d'Alene! To get it going right we took a cruise to the North Pole (happened to only be a 30 minute ride across the lake) to visit Santa. There were fireworks and everything!

Our tradition every year is to watch the Macy's Day Parade on Thanksgiving morning. Everyone else bailed out. They were too busy cooking and playing football, but my trusty little man never left my side. He did fall asleep on me though, at least he was trying to be loyal :)

(really pretty sunset on Thanksgiving night!)

11 PIES!!! Just about one per person :)

The day after Thanksgiving Coeur d'Alene has their light parade rain or shine. Well this year it was VERY  rainy and cold. Who were the crazies that sat it out and even went an hour early to get good seats.... ya, we are!
Can you tell who thinks his parents are Crazy???? :)
a peak of all the other crazies from under our umbrella make shift tent

He was much happier once we got back to the warmth of the indoors!

The Christmas season started off with a bang here in Moscow Idaho. Growing up in California the season never looked like the fairy tale Christmas that was portrayed in the story books or movies. I do not remember ever waking to snow outside my window during the holiday season, but here in Moscow we do! That exclamation point is only there because of the beauty of the snow and the excitement it brings to the holidays not because I actually like going out in it. Emmett on the other hand got to experience it at the ripe age of 4 and a half months.

Just like me he loves looking at it through the window.

hehe! I fell in love with these Osh Kosh old man style under thermals with the butt flap!

But going out in the snow was the real test. I waited for a "warmer" day and then took Emmett out. I quickly learned that this little man was not a fan! There was skeptical eyes and that then just full on screaming.

Santa made his appearance at Jeff's med school classes Christmas party. Emmett fell in love with his long beard and bright red outfit!

Christmas Morning
A few days before Christmas headed down to Lodi to see my mom. It was warm and wonderful. We had an early Christmas a few days before the 25th because on the 23rd we headed to So Cal for Christmas. There would be sand and an ocean but no tree so we celebrated with the trees and presents at home.

Best thing about a baby is that they sleep in on Christmas morning :)

hehe.. the bright paper was almost too much to handle

everything belongs in the mouth
Merry Early Christmas!
